Father’s Day

Happy Father’s Day, Dad. You are the perfect example of our Heavenly Father. You have given to me and provided for me in a way that nobody can ever know. You have stood behind me and trusted in me when nobody else did; when I didn’t even trust in myself. You have trusted in me and loved me in a way that has allowed me to flourish even at an age when most families would have allowed their children to face their trials alone. You did not let me face the disasters of my life alone, you stood by my side and faced them with me. What you have done for me, echoes through my mind when I think of when Mother was about to slip into eternity and you assured her that everything would be ok, that you would take care of her (your) children. It is a terrible thing to lose our Mother, but if I had not lost mine, I would not have had the opportunity to know this deep love that you show your children. Yes, you have always loved us and been the most awesome provider, but to know the FATHER in you is beyond words and measure. How BLESSED AM I!

I remember my life and the disaster that I created of it, and during that time I thought to myself, “‘How my FATHER has bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger! I will arise and go to my father, and will say to him, “Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you, and I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Make me like one of your hired servants.”’

“And he arose and came to his father. But when he was still a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him. And the son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight, and am no longer worthy to be called your son.’

“BUT THE FATHER brought out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet. And bring the fatted calf here and kill it, and let us eat and be merry; 24 for this my son was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’ And they began to be merry. This is not a parable. This is sum of my life.

Words cannot describe what mighty love you have for your children. I can only compare that love to how Jesus loved us and that of the Father of the Prodigal Son. I would not be where I am today without you. You have given me wise guidance and love that allowed our Heavenly Father to shape and to mold me. I have a long ways to go, but I want you to know, and before the whole world, you are the perfect example of FATHER and what a FATHER should be. I can now live my life as ‘more than a conqueror’ and not in defeat and misery. I am Blessed beyond measure in what and WHO I have in you.

I love you more than I can tell you or show you. Happy Father’s Day.
