There was a time in my life, for most of my adult life, that I was bound by works. I was consumed with the fact that I was not good enough, that I would never make the cut, that God had created me a certain way and that it wasn’t good enough. I was bound by not trying to get God to do something by my works. I was bound by condemnation, that I was never going to make it, and so, why even try. So, I lived my life in the most corruptible way possible.
But now, I perceive that I am the righteousness of God by faith in Christ Jesus. I know that God did not send his son into this world to condemn it, but that this world through him might be saved (John 3:17). I know that Jesus has given His life and shed his blood for my salvation. The word salvation comes from the Greek word sozo and means to save, heal, cure, preserve, keep safe and sound, deliver, rescue from danger and destruction. I know that the word of God is true, because the Holy Spirit of God that is in me has revealed it to me. He says, "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Nobody comes to the Father, but by me."
Jesus has made the way for EVERYONE. He does not judge anyone during this period of Grace. We are saved BY GRACE through Faith. It is the gift of God. What manner of love is this that we are called the Children of God.
To have the revelation of what God has done for us through his son, Jesus, is to know the deep love of God for us, his children. To know this love, is to know that we are more that conquerors in Christ Jesus. We are called to be the ambassadors of Heaven in this world, not of the world, but our citizenship is in Heaven. We have been given authority and power, delegated, by the Lord Jesus Christ to do even greater works that him.
We cannot do these works if we are focused on our own works. The blood of Jesus has allowed us to no be sin conscious. That means that when we stumble, we can just keep on moving in the love of God because he has done it all for us on the cross. What manner of LOVE IS THIS? This is the Love of God.
There is a fine line between the works "to" salvation and the works "of" salvation. A person can do the same kinds of works: pray, fast, etc., but if he is doing them with the wrong heart, it profits him nothing. But if a man prays and fasts because he loves God, then he is producing a work of salvation, because he cannot get God to move. God has already moved, and the man that works because he loves God is producing fruit that only the Holy Spirit of God in him can produce.
This is the difference between Old and New Covenant. God does not want to see our destruction. If he did, it would have already happened. If Satan could destroy us, he would have already. We are the saints of God. We are the mighty in Christ Jesus.
